SPAGS - Board Nominations and Elections

Any SPAGS members in good standing may be nominated and elected to serve on the SPAGS Board in the position of President-Elect, Secretary, or Representative-at-Large. The Past President, who oversees the nomination and elections process, will accept nominations if they are endorsed by at least two members, one of whom must be the nominated person. Nominations will typically be solicited by the Past President near the end of the calendar year. The nomination period will be closed 21 days following this solicitation. Nominees will be expected to prepare an autobiographical ‘campaign’ statement that will not exceed 750 words and provide this statement to the Past President before the end of the nomination period.

At that time, a final election ballot will be prepared including no more than three people with the largest number of nominations for each office to be elected. Prepared nominee statements will then be distributed to SPAGS membership, who will have 21 days to vote. The election results will be made public no later than 21 days following the conclusion of voting, and prior to the annual meeting.
