Section IX (Assessment Psychology) of the Society of Clinical Psychology (APA Division 12) is dedicated to the promotion of quality assessment in the practice and science of psychology.

The American Board of Assessment Psychology (ABAP) was organized in 1993 to establish and promote standards for psychologists who specialize in assessment. For more information, a mission statement, and an application to become a Diplomate, please see their web site.

Several new CPT Codes for psychological and neuropsychological assessment went into effect on January 1, 2006. Click here to download a description of the new codes. The American Psychological Association Practice Organization offers information about use of the new codes along with questions and answers to address various problems.
