Javiera Gutierrez

I am a clinical and health psychologist from Nicaragua, currently residing and studying in Mexico. I graduated in 2023 in Monterrey and am now pursuing a master’s degree in psychotherapy and hospital psychology at the University Hospital, expecting to graduate in June 2026. In my practice, I focus on working with individuals who have personality disorders, with a particular interest in Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and transfer-focused psychotherapy (TFP).

I am actively involved in an interdisciplinary team at the psychiatry department, contributing to comprehensive evaluations that address complex patient needs. This role has allowed me to deepen my understanding of collaborative care in a hospital setting, bridging psychological and medical perspectives to enhance treatment outcomes.

Additionally, my academic work focuses on protective factors in the mental health of the LGBTQIA+ community, exploring resilience, social and family support, and community connection. I have also delivered talks on mental health topics and effective allyship for this population.
