Diversity in the Storm Culturally Competent Assessment in Turbulent Times (1.5 CEs)

Abstract

During the present era of political polarization, what is the impact of the current state of affairs on the field of psychology . Specific focus will be on areas of assessment. A review of the governing ethical principles, codes and APA guidance on assessment will ground the discussion of the panel. . Selected topics will include the ethical duty of care, research and publications on diversity, increased stressors on marginalized communities; the assessment of trauma, training programs on assessment, and testing report disclosures, related to race, disability, gender and lgtbq status.
