Using the Consensus Rorschach in Ultra-brief Therapeutic Assessment with Couples (1.5 CEs)

Abstract

Over the past two years, the three presenters have worked to develop and test an ultra-brief version of Therapeutic Assessment with Couples in which the Consensus Rorschach is used as a potent Assessment Intervention Session (AIS) in the second meeting with the partners. In this symposium we will describe the rationale and procedures of Ultra-brief Therapeutic Assessment with Couples (UB TA2) and illustrate how the Consensus Rorschach illuminates aspects of couples’ interactions of which they are unaware, and which are highly related to their relationship challenges. Each presenter will describe one case in detail and provide excerpts of the session using the Consensus Rorschach. The cases are from 3 different continents and the presenters will discuss how cultural differences are relevant. There will be time at the end for questions and discussion from the audience.
