Casey Lee

Casey Lee is a third-year doctoral student reading Clinical Psychology at Duquesne University. Under the mentorship of Dr. Patrick McElfresh and Dr. Jessie Goicoechea, she works in a collaborative research group that is currently studying limitations of the Thematic Apperception Test in accessing the cultural experiences and intersectional identities of diverse individuals. This project, titled Use of Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) with Diverse Populations: Exploring Trainee Psychologists’ Experiences, will be presented at the 2023 Society for Personality Assessment convention. Alongside her studies, Casey has also served as President of the Migration Club, working with an interdisciplinary committee to increase awareness of the lived experiences of international students. In her undergraduate program, Casey won the 2014 Phi Kappa Phi Student Research Paper Award for her paper Understanding Suicide Through A Phenomenological Perspective under the mentorship of Dr. Benjamin W. Hill III. Moving forward, Casey hopes to pursue further research on the international use of personality assessment and clinical tools, with a particular focus on the intersection of collaborative assessment, multiculturalism, and mixed-method approaches.
