Shannon Thomson is a fifth-year Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Candidate at the Derner School of Psychology, Adelphi University, and is currently completing her clinical internship at Nassau University Medical Center. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from SUNY Cortland, a Master's degree in General Psychology from Adelphi University, and a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology en passant from Adelphi University. Shannon has worked in multiple research labs and currently conducts research in Dr. Robert F. Bornstein’s lab, focusing on detachment, underlying dynamics among detached personalities, and personality assessment. Her dissertation examines differences between categorical and dimensional models of personality pathology severity among individuals with detached personality styles. Shannon’s accomplishments include chairing a symposium at an international conference, presenting posters at three international conferences, publishing two peer-reviewed journal articles, receiving a student research grant, being the recipient of a dissertation grant, and earning Adelphi University's 2024 George Stricker Fellowship Award in recognition of her research productivity and impact.
