Beloved Husband, Father, Distinguished Scholar, and Renowned Psychologist
Irving B. Weiner, Ph.D., a distinguished psychologist, scholar, a devoted father and husband, passed away at his home on November 6, 2024, at the age of 91, in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Weiner was known for his groundbreaking contributions to the field of psychology and for his deep commitment to the betterment of others through his academic and professional work.
Born on August 16,1933 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dr. Weiner earned his Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Michigan and went on to have a remarkable career, becoming a leading figure in Rorschach. He was widely respected for his expertise and dedication to advancing knowledge in his field. Dr. Weiner authored several influential books and research papers, and his work earned him the admiration of peers and students alike. His teaching inspired generations of students, and he remained a passionate advocate for lifelong learning throughout his career.
In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Weiner was known for his warmth, wit, and kindness. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be remembered as a devoted husband to his wife Frances, and father to his sons Jeremy and Seth, who were the light of his life. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Frances Weiner; son, Jeremy Weiner; son, Seth Weiner; Kerri Ginsberg Weiner; daughter- in- law, Hannah Weiner; grand daughter, Hallie Weiner; grand daughter, Karen Weiner; Sister-in-law, Helene Ainspan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob H. Weiner and Mollie L. Weiner, and brother Jerry L. Weiner.
Dr. Weiner’s contributions to psychology and the lives of those who knew him will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire and guide us for years to come.
