SPAGS Presents - The Empowered Path - Shaping the Future of Psychology Careers (1.5 CEs)
SPA E-Learning Center | 2024 SPA Convention
Abstract
This roundtable discussion will feature six women with varying origin stories who crafted distinctive careers that utilize personality assessment. The goal of this forum is to provide up-and-coming personality assessors and those interested in personality psychology at large a safe-enough space for the opportunity to learn more about the plethora of jobs that are available. Each speaker represents a different career path in psychology that encompasses various job requirements and skills, including academia, industry, VA work, NIH-funded research, private practice, forensic psychology, and training graduate students in personality assessment. During the roundtable, the speakers will introduce themselves and each will provide a brief overview of their career trajectory. Following this, questions from the SPAGS student representative moderators, Essie Asan and Kelci Davis, will be presented to the round table discussants. Finally, time will be allotted for audience members to ask their own questions of the participants. This session is appropriate for graduate students, early career professionals, and those who may be on a path that they want to shift as part of imagining a new career.
