What Assessment Clinicians Need to Know About Current & Essential Ethical Considerations in PA

Conducting psychological assessment is associated with a myriad of ethical considerations that assessment clinicians must be mindful of to ensure that the highest standards of practice are employed and to mitigate risk.  Data on disciplinary actions taken specific to psychological assessment will be shared as context for the importance of this topic. This presentation will address new and emerging understandings of specific ethical considerations in psychological assessment as well as foundational, essential ones.  Topics will include the increasing role of technology in psychological assessment, culturally responsive assessment, test security/data sharing, new versions of tests, competence and supervision.  The focus will be on practical applications that participants can immediately use in their clinical work and resources for further consideration will be provided.
